How we vet clients

We take a limited number of companies each quarter. Before we pitch a newsroom, the company has to clear a simple bar:

  • Real product. A working product that holds up to scrutiny.
  • Clear category and milestone. A launch, dataset, raise, regulatory step or other fact a reporter can verify.
  • Honest claims. Each client's Narrative Map defines what the company will claim, with sources behind every number.
  • Founder availability. A spokesperson ready to go on the record when a story is live.

Companies that fall short of this bar don't become clients. Client names stay confidential until they approve a named mention.

What we can provide

When you are covering a client (or evaluating a pitch), we can usually supply:

AssetNotes
One-page briefCategory, product in plain language, why now, suggested angles, and what we are not claiming.
Founder / executive accessOn-the-record interviews, timed when useful. Off-record background only when you ask for it and we agree in writing.
Data and primary materialCharts, studies, product demos, or filings the company can stand behind. We label preliminary vs published.
EmbargoesHonored when you request them and the company agrees. We do not invent embargo theater for soft news.
B-roll / stills / biosWhen available and cleared.
Follow-up fact checkWritten clarifications on request before publish.

Our commitments to you:

  • One exclusive goes to one desk.
  • Every metric comes with a source you can check.
  • Your editorial call stays yours.

Categories we work in

Typical fit: AI, biotech, fintech, cleantech, and adjacent B2B tech. Clinical-stage science and other deep-tech stories appear when the facts are solid. Exact active clients stay confidential unless they have approved a named mention or you already have the relationship.

For category-level descriptions of past work shapes (without a logo wall), see case studies.

How to request an interview

  1. Email cynthia@storylinepros.com with your outlet, desk, deadline, and the company or topic you are covering.
  2. Include preferred format (phone, video, email Q&A) and whether you need embargo or on-site.
  3. We confirm founder availability and send a brief plus any cleared materials.
  4. If we cannot help (wrong fit, no clearance, conflict), we say so quickly so you can move on.

Due diligence is welcome

Ask hard questions about the company, the data, and our role. We would rather lose a weak pitch than burn a newsroom relationship. Email Cynthia when you need access or a brief on a client we represent.
